THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

After spending almost two decades in large architectural firms, I've developed a keen understanding of the eye-catching angles of the built environment that draw the interest of the viewer. My business name comes directly from the lines and light I use to draw focus on to the unique elements that make your design exciting and interesting. I endeavor to provide you with imagery that gives you an outstanding and invaluable marketing asset within your budget.

MY APPROACH

Its like a Dance

Dance is a universal form of expression that can convey emotions, culture, history, and creativity through movement and rhythm.

Over the years I have noticed the correlation between photographing the built environment and various dancing styles. Almost all of my AEC client’s needs fall into three distinct categories. Some are more budget driven while other’s attention is focused on creating an immersive experience. However, most clients prefer an equal measure of each. I discuss their nuances and differences below.

Interpretative Dance

(Less Than 1.5 Hours)

This option includes little to no direction from my clients. I am provided no more than an address, date and time to photograph the project. I walk in blindly and compose views on the fly as I move through the spaces. These types of photos are typically reserved for documentation only and will have minimal staging. This is the most cost-effective way to commission architectural photography.

Two Step

(Between 2-4 Hours)

For projects and clients that require more attention to detail, the Two Step is the most popular option. After receiving a set of plans or shot list, I provide an estimate prior to scheduling the shoot. On the day of the shoot, a representative, typically someone who worked on the project, will accompany me. Together, we collaborate on how to best highlight the unique features as well as minimize any distractions.

Line Dance

(More Than 2 Hours)

Reserved for large scale and high-end projects requiring more feet on the dance floor. We use the same technique as the Two Step, however, we take additional steps. Extensive decluttering, supplemental staging and lighting considerations are taken into account. Models and additional entourage can also be employed to occupy a larger volume. Often these projects are shot at multiple times in a given day or over several days.
